Modifiers and modifier groups
Create modifiers, set how they are charged and shown, and limit how many options the customer picks.

Where modifiers are managed
In Product library › Items, click the Modifiers button to see all your modifiers. From that panel you can search them, create a new one with Create modifier, edit them or delete them. Deleting a modifier cannot be undone.
You can also create a modifier while creating or editing an item, in its Modifiers step or tab.
Set up a modifier
When you create or edit a modifier you fill in:
- Name: short and recognizable.
- Type: Add, Remove, Replace or Other.
- Price: what it adds to the item.
- Prefix: appears before the name on receipts and the KDS (Add, Remove or none).
- Max quantity: how many times it can be added to the same item.
- Show in KDS summary: when enabled, it appears in the kitchen screen summary.
- Ingredients & preparations: what the modifier consumes; the quantity sets how much it deducts from stock.
You can also give it a text and background color, and check the result in the preview.
Groups and option sections
In a modifier's Groups field you pick or create the groups it belongs to, for example "Sauces". A group without limits is just a label.
To let the customer choose within a group, open Product library › Items › Modifiers, go to Option sections and click Set limits on the group. Set the Minimum and Maximum number of options and, if you want, turn on Allow the same option more than once. The group then shows up as a section when ordering. The minimum cannot exceed the maximum or the number of options in the group.
